For the European Championships, Avolon staff organised a European Championship sweepstake. Funds raised for the sweepstakes went to the Vita organisation. Names were selected at random and each participating staff member was allocated a team with the winners of the tournament winning a cash prize of half of what was raised.
After a tense month of shock eliminations and heart breaking moments (especially for Irish fans), Portugal were victorious. Not only did the competition create an exciting atmosphere in the office, it also contributed to the Vita organisation. There were 48 participants in the draw which raised €240. The CARE committee generously offered to match the amount we raised which added on another €240. Finally, the two winners of the draw, John Breslin and Neil Mulvihill, kindly donated their winnings of €120 each to Vita, taking total donations from the event to €720.
Thank you to all who showed support and particularly Neil and John for contributing their winnings back to Vita.
