A key role at the heart of the OEM team, the AVP OEM will work closely with the Head of OEM, the VPs in the team, other stakeholders within Avolon and our OEM partners. The successful candidate will have a broad role supporting the various activities of the OEM team, such as managing our relationships with the OEMs, negotiating PAs and related documents with the airframe and engine OEMs, managing the existing orderbook, providing product support to the marketing team when placing new aircraft and working with the HNA fleet team to advance our One Voice strategy. The AVP will have direct interaction with our OEM partners and will also be expected to lead certain projects.
Working alongside the OEM Team’s commercial VPs in the day-to-day relationship management of the airframe and engine OEMs. This will include upgrading the quality and quantity of the on-going interaction Avolon has with all of the major OEMs, through traveling to visit OEMs, participation at industry events, and ongoing customer communication.
Building a network of relationships across the commercial, marketing and technical organizations of the engine OEMs.
Providing support in the negotiation of airframe and engine purchase agreements, PA amendments, thrust pool agreements and related documents.
Support Head of OEM/VPs in preparing and implementing coverage plans and strategies for the team.
Proactive in obtaining QMI (Quick Market Intel) and preparing timely Meeting Notes to facilitate Avolon’s understanding of OEM trends
Participating in and leading, as may be required, cross-functional deal teams on transactions
Analyzing data to help the team understand the market for new aircraft
Using the team’s proprietary models to assess aircraft’s capabilities
Using industry sources to find data for analysis required by the team
Development and maintenance of reporting tools for wider team
Maintain an up-to-date database of OEM aircraft and engine programs and OEM marketing materials
Prepare marketing materials to assist the placement of aircraft
Supporting the team’s marketing support initiative including the preparation of product related marketing materials and customer visits.
Performing ad-hoc projects for the Head of OEM Team
The successful candidate will be driven, resourceful and a good relationship builder. The job is demanding and requires the ability to manage relationships and complex transactions across time zones and cultures. The candidate should be numerate and should have a passion for aviation. Essential Skills and Experience
Experience at an aerospace OEM, in aviation leasing or sales with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Some understanding of the key technical issues as they pertain to aircraft and engines.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop, nurture and maintain business relationships, ideally with exposure to cross-border relationships.
Proven commercial acumen and keen understanding of the legal and commercial issues impacting decision-making and business risk/reward hurdles.
Proven experience in analysing and managing large volumes of data is essential.
