The person required for this role must be an individual with strong interpersonal skills and have the experience and confidence to engage at all levels. A strong background in the negotiation of aircraft leases and the transitioning aircraft between Lessees is essential, as is a proven ability to find good compromise solutions to complex problems in a high pressure environment.
Recent management experience within the technical function of an aircraft lessor is required, as well as significant experience in an Airline or MRO engineering environment. The ideal candidate for this role will be capable of leading a geographically spread team of three direct reports and a wide team of independently minded professionals to negotiate LOI’s and Leases, and support the transition of aircraft between Lessees. A key requirement of the role is to work closely with the Chief Technical Officer to develop and improve the organisation’s systems and working processes. An ability to work effectively with other departments within the business to ensure the optimal outcome as often as possible in the technical aspects of our Lease transactions is essential.
The Head of Technical Transaction Management will report directly to the Chief Technical Officer and will be required to;
Build, organise and manage a strong and globally dispersed team of professionals to negotiate Leases and LOI’s as part of our Deal Team structure and to project manage the transition of aircraft between Lessees.
Put in place processes and procedures that will ensure a high level of consistency in negotiating our LOI’s and Lease documentation.
Help to develop the people and improve the processes and systems utilised across Avolon’s Technical area.
Provide consistent communication and dissemination of up to date data and market information throughout the organisation.
The role requires extensive international travel commitments, sometimes at short notice.
Management of all technical issues associated with Avolon’s aircraft acquisition, placement, releasing and disposal activity.
Manage the transition of all company owned and managed aircraft assets between Lessees.
Develop the skills of the team, promote broad business understanding and ensure succession planning.
Promote collaboration across the business and ensure that the team search for the best compromise outcomes for the business as a whole.
Build and maintain strong working relationship with all of Avolon airline customers.
Proven and extensive experience in aircraft lease negotiation and the transitioning of aircraft from one Lessee to the next over many years.
