The Role: The VP EMEA will be primarily responsible for aircraft origination and marketing in the EMEA region, to include management and development of business relationships across the region, to meet the business’ aircraft redeployment and growth objectives.
Pursue new aircraft placement, existing fleet aircraft remarketing and origination of Sale & Leaseback opportunities in the EMEA region
Develop, nurture and upgrade airline relationships in the EMEA region through face-to-face airline coverage (requiring extensive travel across the EMEA region), customer events and ongoing business communication with airline counterparts. Nurture multi-level relationships at airlines involving Head of EMEA, CCO and CEO as required.
Lead and manage cross-functional deal teams to ensure Avolon’s return and risk hurdles are met
Prepare, negotiate and execute Letters of Intent with airline customers in line with risk and return hurdles
Proactive in obtaining QMI (Quick Market Intel) and preparing timely Meeting Notes to facilitate Avolon’s understanding of pricing trends and client relationships
Demonstrate an ability to innovate and develop new marketing and sales strategies that can facilitate the business in maximising transaction returns and minimising risk (e.g. AOG periods.)
Assist proactively, as may be required, in the execution and/or novation of leases
Work closely with the Head of EMEA and EMEA colleagues in preparing and implementing marketing plans and strategies
Actively participate in project-based business initiatives in Avolon to facilitate the development of the company platform
Actively participate in Avolon CSR (Corporate & Social Responsibility) initiatives (see TRIBE/CARE)
Collaborate with the Capital Markets and Trading teams to optimise businesses coverage and relationship management of key contacts based in the EMEA region

The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in originating and negotiating complex aircraft leasing transactions across a diverse range of airlines and cultures. As part of their background, they will enjoy extensive industry relationships. Similarly, they will have significant experience leading cross-functional deal teams and thus possess high levels of emotional intelligence and an ability to work under pressure.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Experience in aviation leasing with a minimum of 3 (three) years of industry experience to include a significant deal track record
Significant network of industry relationships to include airlines, OEMs and Lessors
Extensive exposure to big ticket negotiation in complex transactions in diverse cultural jurisdictions
Superior emotional intelligence (EQi) with demonstrated ability in managing complex deal situations in high pressure situations
Keen understanding of technical issues on Airbus and Boeing aircraft, ideally with significant experience of transitioning aircraft
Proven ability to develop and deepen business relationships across diverse cultures
Proven commercial ability and understanding of the legal and commercial issues impacting lease decision-making and business risk/reward hurdles
Team player with significant experience in leading and managing deal/project teams
Track record in leading/participating in CSR initiatives
