On the 13 November, 2013, a team from Avolon completed the Run in the Dark on behalf of the Mark Pollock Trust. In total over 13,000 runners participated in the event in cities around the world, with a team of 15 representing Avolon at the flagship event in Dublin.
Avolon was an official sponsor of the event, raising over €4,000 in total for the Mark Pollock Trust. The Avolon team is extremely grateful to all those who contributed to the fundraising.
The Run in the Dark event was established in response to Mark Pollock’s paralysing accident in 2010. The money raised by Avolon will go directly to the Mark Pollock Trust, which is funding Mark’s exploration of recovery from spinal cord injury. The trust aims to be a catalyst for collaboration, connecting scientists, technologists and physiologists around the world to mainstream research that is currently on the fringes.
