NDSL is based in the Oscar Traynor Coaching and Development Centre in Dublin 17 and is a community based football squad filled with tremendous ability and talent. It was the first League to introduce small sided games into Ireland for boys and girls. Their aim is to progress the game of association football through improving playing and coaching standards within the League.
The Supercup NI tournament gives the young squad the opportunity to play at the highest level against top opposition, and importantly it is a chance to be seen globally by professional clubs. As part of the tournament, NDSL played County Antrim, Right to Dream Ghana Academy, GPS Bayern Munich and MS Select from New Zealand. The opening ceremony and parade through the town of Coleraine was hosted by the actor James Nesbitt. NDSL won one of the five trophies in the final.
This was an amazing experience that Sean will remember forever and is very grateful that Avolon made this trip possible. In 2nd year of St. Kevin’s CBS Secondary School, Sean recently won school Sportsperson of the Year.
