The AWARE 30th Anniversary Ball took place in the Doubletree Hilton, Dublin on 3rd October 2015. Avolon was represented on the night by Neil Murphy and Brendan Sinnott along with their family and friends on the night. The evening was a blacktie affair hosted by Ryan Tubridy with special performances from the cast of Riverdance. Throughout the evening, members of the audience who had been helped through difficult times by AWARE, spoke of their experiences and how they overcame the tough times. These speeches were undoubtedly the highlight of the evening (followed closely by the infamous Riverdance finale!) and showed the tremendous work that AWARE do. AWARE undertakes to create a society where people affected by stress, depression, bipolar and mood disorders are understood, supported, feel free from stigma, and are encouraged to access appropriate therapies. Their work is carried out by people who have experienced and lived through these conditions and by volunteers. It is estimated that 450,000 people in Ireland require help that AWARE can provide. The funds raised at this event will help the charity to continue their amazing work and expand the pool of people they can reach. For more information, please visit http://www.aware.ie/.
