Avolon offers aids to victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.
Avolon partnered with three separate charities to assist rebuilding communities which were destroyed by the hurricane
1. Airlink is moving specialized responders into place, assisting more than 15 response partners, including Save the Children, Empact Northwest, Heart to Heart International, and World Central Kitchen. The organizations bring a wide variety of specializations to disaster-stricken communities and will provide search and rescue operations, medical care, safe spaces for children, food and clean water provisions, and other essential assistance.
2. Samaritans Purse is now operating our Emergency Field Hospital in Freeport on Grand Bahama, treating patients for a variety of injuries, illnesses, and other medical issues. In the wake of Hurricane Dorian, we airlifted the mobile facility along with a large medical team at the request of the World Health Organization and the Bahamas government.
3. American Red Cross: After the emergency phase of a response has been completed, we turn to helping people recover and addressing lingering community needs. Working together with community leaders, government and relief agencies, we organize and execute recovery strategies that include: Providing emergency financial assistance in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, Distributing financial assistance for households that need extra help in the long-term, Providing grants for community-based recovery services.
