Avolon entered three teams in the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre (“DRCC”) Annual Corporate Quiz Challenge which took place at the Intercontinental Hotel on the evening of the 2nd of March.

Avolon entered three teams in the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre (“DRCC”) Annual Corporate Quiz Challenge which took place at the Intercontinental Hotel on the evening of the 2nd of March. Introducing some friendly competition between departments, the three teams comprised of members from Finance, Technical and an inter-departmental “Pick n Mix”. The Corporate Quiz, hosted by Pat Kenny was greatly supported by corporate Dublin including many of the top legal, accountancy and software firms.  The event had 34 teams (plus donations from some who could not participate) on the evening at €650 per team. At the end of a very competitive evening, the Irish Times team and the Irish Life Assurance team both had the same score (69 out of 80 questions) resulting in a tie breaker which Irish Life won. The proceeds from the event amounted to €20,000 for the DRCC and this money will be used for frontline services. In that context the DRCC currently has a waiting list of over 150 people – an unacceptable number which fundraising events such as this will hopefully reduce. The Technical and Pick n Mix teams performed admirably while all that can be said of the Finance team performance is that it was in the Olympian spirit – not about winning, more about participating. Overall, it was a great night of fundraising for the DRCC and Avolon were delighted to offer their support once again to such a great and important organisation.
