Avolon support the new MSc in Aviation Finance at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.


The MSc in Aviation Finance, the first of its kind in Europe, was developed jointly by UCD and various industry partners including Avolon, AerCap, GECAS, KPMG, SMBC and Snecma (Safran).

Avolon is proud to support the new MSc in Aviation Finance at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. The MSc in Aviation Finance, the first of its kind in Europe, was developed jointly by UCD and various industry partners including Avolon, AerCap, GECAS, KPMG, SMBC and Snecma (Safran). The programme was launched on April 12th at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School by Willie Walsh, Group CEO of IAG and attended by industry leaders and prospective students. Speaking about the programme, he commented: “For this industry to thrive it needs a constant pipeline of talent with the necessary skills and expertise to help shape the future of the aviation industry. I commend UCD Smurfit School for developing this course in partnership with leading aviation players. This will ensure that graduates will have the combination of academic rigour married with relevant experience through the practical research and internship programmes which are a key part of the course. UCD Smurfit School’s introduction of Europe’s first Masters in Aviation Finance ensures that Ireland can continue to forge its leadership position with the necessary talent produced by one of Europe’s top business schools.” The new course commencing September 2016, will develop student’s understanding of all aspects of aviation finance, with a specific focus on the practical features of global aviation markets. Its aim is to develop the next generation of leadership in Aviation Finance and to enhance Ireland’s reputation and reach as the international leader in the sector. Avolon, along with other industry partners has committed support to the programmed over five years and will offer assistance with internships, scholarships, research projects and guest lecturers.
