ISPCC Smart Moves

Avolon has supported the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children’s (ISPCC) Smart Moves Programme for the past 4 years. Smart Moves is aimed at primary students in 6th class, and those in 1st and 2nd year in secondary school. The programme teaches them how to transition from primary to secondary schools with as little stress and anxiety as possible. This is taught to them by their teachers and parents through short sessions designed to strengthen their skills to increase their overall resilience.

When a school registers to take part in the ‘Smart Moves’ Programme, they receive a resource pack from ISPCC supported by Avolon containing student diaries, journals, teachers’ guidebooks, and posters from the programme.

The Smart Moves programme has proven to be highly sought after by the school community with year-on-year growth, having started with 54 primary schools registering for the programme in 2021, to over 270 primary schools registered in 2023.
