On September 22nd, the Avolon team participated in their first ever CARE Day. The Avolon CARE Day is the hallmark of the “A” pillar CARE Initiative, and it allows the entire company to devote a day to making a hands-on difference in the community.

St. Vincent’s Boys’ School, North William Street, is a designated disadvantaged school in inner city Dublin. They have 129 boys on roll between the ages of 4 and 7 years. Over 50% of the pupils come to school with special needs, including severe emotional / psychological disturbance, down’s syndrome, autistic spectrum disorders and severe language disorders. Their dream was to create a multi-sensory play area that would help them meet their needs.

Teaming with St. Vincent’s and a group of engineers, Avolon’s objective was to transform a disused rooftop and overgrown outside area into a sensory area and playground. In groups comprising members of every team and every office throughout the company, the Avolon TRIBE built bridges, climbing walls, tunnels, planters and teaching nooks, giving new life to spaces which had previously been underutilized and in need of serious repair. At 4:30pm, we turned over the new areas to St. Vincent’s, allowing several dozen excited pupils to put their stamps of approval on a long day’s work. The inaugural Avolon CARE Day was a massive success, with the pictures and videos telling it all![/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”6114,6109,6110,6112,6118,6119,6120,6121,6122,6123,6124,6125,6126,6127,6128,6129,6130,6131,6132,6133,6134,6115,6135,6111,6136,6137,6138,6139,6140,6141,6142,6076,6078,6077,6079,6080,6081,6082,6083,6084,6085,6087,6088,6089,6090,6091,6092,6093,6094,6095,6096,6097,6098,6099,6100,6102,6117,6104,6105,6106,6107,6108,6101,6086″ img_size=”130×87″ el_class=”jvGallery”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
