Avolon is proud to continually support the Dublin International Piano Competition (DIPC) which hosts one of the most important piano competitions in the world and also supports young Irish pianists to develop their talents to perform and compete on the world stage. Avolon’s relationship with the DIPC began with the sponsorship of a music appreciation project for primary schools. The project began in early 2016 with the implementation of a training module for student teachers and the delivery of music appreciation classes in primary schools. This was then brought to life by a visit from a professional musician. Thanks to the support of Avolon, DIPC commissioned a video on the project to ensure it is promoted and embedded in additional schools. More recently Avolon also joined with a number of other aircraft leasing companies to offer sponsorship for the 2018 Dublin International Piano Competition, helping to ensure the continuation of this word-class music event. The next DIPC piano event will take place on 2nd November in the National Concert Hall, with John O’Conor, Artistic Director of DIPC and Veronica McSwiney playing a two-piano concert.
