Staff travelled far and wide with all our colleagues based in Hong Kong, New York, Singapore and China coming to Dublin especially for the day. The project this year was St James’ CBS in Dublin City Centre. St James’ CBS are already good friends of Avolon thanks to the Business in the Community programme that took place during the 2016 school year. With the help and vision of Difference Days the TRIBE took on the ambitious task of creating a new sports yard, a Bootcamp yard, a new entrance area, an outdoor classroom and a bike shed for the school. The day began with a warm welcome from the school, including a performance of a song written by two incredibly talented students, Elvis and Melissa, especially for Avolon. This provided everyone with the energy and motivation needed to complete the task in hand. After a quick cup of coffee and a scone kindly provided by the school it was straight to work for the TRIBE. With the weather on our side and Avolon spirits high the morning flew by in a flurry of painting, cleaning and drilling. Come lunch time everything was beginning to take shape but the end product was still a stretch away. A well-deserved break was taken to refuel but in true Avolon spirit people were back to their stations no sooner than they had left them. As the finish line drew closer all teams really pulled together – as one project ended the groups deployed themselves across other teams to get the job done.   By 5pm all teams were able to down tools and take a look at what their hard work had produced. The end product was unbelievable given what we had started with and a testament to the blood, sweat and a few tears that had gone in to producing it. A presentation took place to mark the occasion and again the TRIBE were treated to performances by the students. Elvis and Melissa performed their song once again due to popular demand and they didn’t disappoint! Avolon would like to say a huge thank you to Difference Days for making an idea become reality. The end product was even better than we had imagined it could ever be. Denis and his team of professionals enabled us to transform a space in to facilities any school would be proud of. Finally, we would like to thank the heroes of the day – the students! The project would never have been complete had it not been for the students who abandoned their books for the day to help the Avolon team. They were a testament to themselves and incredible ambassadors for the school. A huge thank you also to their Principal Paul MacEntee, Vice Principal Joanne Burke and all of the teachers and staff at St James’s CBS for allowing us to take over their school for one day of madness.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type="image_grid" images="5819,5821,5822,5823,5824,5825,5826,5827,5828,5829,5830,5831,5832,5833,5834,5835,5771,5770,5772,5773,5774,5775,5776,5777,5778,5779,5780,5781,5782,5783,5784,5785,5786,5787,5788,5789,5790,5791,5792,5793,5794,5795,5796,5797,5798,5799,5800,5801,5802,5803,5804,5805,5806,5807,5808,5809,5810,5811,5812,5813,5814,5815,5816,5817,5818,5820" img_size="130x87" el_class="jvGallery"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
