Avolon supported the “SHANNON BY OAR” project

Avolon supported the “SHANNON BY OAR” project which was a voluntary fundraising campaign for hospice care in Ireland. Three handmade rowing skiffs rowed the length of the Shannon from Lough Allen in Co. Leitrim to Shannon Bridge in Limerick. A crew of 25 people, including three Avolon Tribe members, rowed a combined total of 250 kilometre over 9 days. Over €60,000 was raised which was evenly split between The Irish Hospice Foundation and The Wicklow Hospice Foundation. These Hospices organisations are committed to providing end-of-life care and practical support for their bereaved friends and family. The Wicklow Hospice requires funding as it is currently building a 15 bed hospice in Magheramore in Wicklow.
