UNICEF
India Campaign
In May 2021, Avolon’s CARE Committee contributed $15,700 to UNICEF’s appeal to support their significant humanitarian operation in India who worked closely alongside the Indian government to combat the spike in COVID cases. Our donation contributed to Oxygen Concentrators worth $785 each that provide oxygen to up to five children, or one to two sick adults, at a time. The donation also contributes towards an Oxygen Generating Plant which will provide oxygen supply to critically ill patients and hospitals, and additional RT-PCR testing and RNA Extraction Machines to speed up identification of new COVID infections.
The CARE Committee were delighted to play a role in supporting UNICEF and India as the country struggled to cope with the huge rise in COVID cases. Beyond helping with the emergency aid, the investment will strengthen India’s health system over the coming years.
