Avolon was approached by UCD Volunteer Overseas (UCDVO) for support in funding the construction of a new roof for the centre and also the installation of solar panels. In recent years during the rainy season the roof would leak causing flooding in the centre and therefore increasing safety concerns for the children.

The roof and solar panels have now been installed and will provide a safer environment for the children to receive care and education at the centre. Physiotherapy students from UCD have been undertaking physiotherapy elective placements in Asha Jyothi since 2014. Qualified physiotherapists also travel out each year as part of the UCDVO Programme. http://www.ucdvo.org/donate/
