Belvedere Youth Club Avolon were delighted to support the Belvedere Youth Club as part of their ongoing fundraising needs over the coming years. The Belvedere Youth Club is due to celebrate its Centenary in 2018, and is the oldest club of its kind in the country. They are currently facing a serious financial crisis and the existence of the club is threatened unless they can put in place additional fundraising support over the coming years. Those that are associated with the work of the club are determined that it will endure particularly now when it is most needed. They have over 400 children aged between 7 and 20 years catered for under a wide range of activities. These include arts, crafts and ceramics, drama, cooking, sports, computer literacy skills and an after school homework assistance programme. Additionally up to 80 hot meals are served daily to the younger members in the afternoon programme. In 2014, 14,600 hot meals were provided. Additional services of the club include a summer camp in Blackwater, Co. Wexford that identifies, supports, and works with young, at-risk children, and which in 2015, had 120 participants.
