On June 4, thirteen Avolon TRIBE members attended the inaugural Dublin Aviation Air Ball. The Air Ball transformed the RDS into a 1960s-themed aviation industry charity event benefitting the Darndale Belcamp Integrated Childcare Center. Since opening its doors in 2001, Darndale has been working to meet the needs of the North Dublin community for high quality, affordable childcare services. The Darndale Belcamp Integrated Childcare Center is the largest community crèche in Ireland, providing childcare services for over 250 children. The Childcare Center offers resources for community children to develop the social, educational and interpersonal skills to succeed while having fun in a safe and stimulating environment. Air Ball attendees were able to put their piloting skills to the test on a flight simulator sponsored by Avolon. The legal team managed to snag both the best and worst Avolon TRIBE simulator scores, with Jeanette Delehanty landing her aircraft in true Top Gun style and Kathleen Oliver managing to miss the runway entirely. In total, the Air Ball raised €50,000 for Darndale, which will help the organization continue to provide essential childrens’ services in one of Dublin’s most underprivileged areas.
