For Comic Relief this year, Avolon’s Linvingston office arranged a “Jeans Day” fundraising event to support Red Nose Day on 25 May. For a $5 donation, employees were able to wear jeans to the office for the day. The denim-clad workers managed to raise $195 which was matched by Avolon and all the proceeds went directly to Comic Relief. Comic Relief is a UK-based charity founded in 1985 in response to the famine in Ethiopia. The charity launched Red Nose Day, using comedy to help raise money for disadvantaged people and to tackle the root causes of poverty and injustice. The US version of the event is now in its third year. For additional information, visit www.rednoseday.com red-nose-day-alt
