Employee Match - Rugby Roundup in aid of Samaritans
In true Avolon TRIBE spirit, this year saw another great response to the RBS 6 Nations Tribe League with a total of 42 entrants. Participants paid a fee to enter the league and battled their rugby selection skills for the 5 games of the tournament.
In true Avolon TRIBE spirit, 2015 saw another great response to the RBS 6 Nations Tribe League with a total of 42 entrants. Participants entering the league battled their colleagues for the 5 games of the tournament. Rugby knowledge is never a prerequisite to league entry, and as always, some entrants were particularly strong in expertly demonstrating ‘rugby-less’ skill. TRIBE representation was once again global. Medal finishers again hailed from the land of the Queen, while Simon Hanson and Avril Alcala fought the good fight for the Southern Hemisphere. Unsurprisingly, the USA TRIBE contingent trailed week on week, ultimately walking away with the Avolon Wooden Spoon for the second year in a row. All in good fun, the league raised €1,240 in support of the Samaritans. Samaritans is a UK and Ireland based organization working to reduce the risk of suicide. Samaritans provides direct services 24 hours per day to provide support for people in need of emotional support, as well as tackles prevention by reducing risk in for at-risk and vulnerable groups and influencing policymakers and practitioners to bring about change in mental health, social care and other services and in public policy.
